A Long Journey

I started this website back in 2017 after I’d been writing novels for a couple of years. Since then, I’ve written a book a year (six so far), but it’s been a while since I’ve written here.

While I haven’t published my novels yet (more on that in the next issue) I recently learned Tequila Midnight was a finalist for the Colorado Gold Rush Literary Awards, an exciting achievement.

Here’s a quick recap of my novels:

  • Continental Rift - Two cousins on opposite sides of the political spectrum trying to mend family ties and figure out how to move beyond politics and deal with the core issues in their lives.

  • Far from Tomorrow - When nuclear bombs hit Denver and Pyongyang, the spirits of the dead find refuge in famous historian Diana Bolton. She decides to use her newfound power to bring peace—if she can outwit the politicians determined to stop her.

  • Forest Lessons - Callie unwittingly upends everything in her dead-end life, then escapes to the forest where she finds danger, meaning, and perhaps a path to save a future greater than her own.

  • The Podcast Chronicles - When a New York developer plans a tacky theme park next to Sue's mountain home, days change from worrying about her kids leaving home and her husband's constant travel to saving the town she loves. Armed with a podcast and a few friends, she learns to fight for her future, her marriage, and her community.

  • The Meaning of Money – LN Jones wants to make economics more equitable, but when her boss and a roomful of executives dismiss her ideas, she relies on an attractive business icon who offers her a speaking gig and a few days to prepare on his private island. When she’s forced to choose between her morals and his payback terms, she learns money can ruin dreams as well as buy them. She’ll have to rely on friends and find her own value to reclaim her reputation and stave off an economic meltdown.

  • Tequila Midnight - When Jessica is asked to find Doraliz, the missing daughter of a wealthy Mexican businessman, she learns some people don’t want the young woman found. No stranger to bad family relationships, Jessica escapes those trying to stop her but realizes to stay alive, and to have a life worth living, she must find the parents she's spent fourteen years trying to forget and stop running from the one man who loves her.

In addition to writing, I’ve been coaching other novelists, volunteering as treasurer for the Women’s Fiction Writers Association, and recently started the Good Book Collective, a platform that gives readers influence over book choices and helps writers gain feedback and successfully self-publish. I can’t wait to share everything that’s happening, and I’ll be back with more news next month.
